The Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA) is undertaking its biggest single carbon reduction project to date, a boiler replacement programme at Aldern House, its Head Quarters in Bakewell, Derbyshire.
This Website provides a case study of the project, we hope that the information, pictures, videos and blog will provide a starting point and inspiration to others considering similar projects.
The project spanned a two year period with a construction phase over almost 6 months. There were two key elements to our project, refitting the boiler room and replacing the boilers and the construction of a biomass pellet fuel store. Each element and how we approached them are detailed here and we hope to communicate the things that worked well and those that didn’t.
